Green work: all the benefits for the company and the workers
The horizon that is looming before the post-covid world has only one color: green. Citizens know this, especially the next generation. Governments know this, and they take the 2030 targets seriously in terms of reducing polluting emissions. And today companies are also increasingly aware of this, and in the Bel Paese they are one step ahead in terms of sensitivity to the issues of ecological and social sustainability.
Sustainability, this is the key word that inspires the choices of the top management at the helm of the most important groups in the Italian economy, which, from fashion to manufacturing and from mechanics to services, are becoming increasingly aware of the potential of a management that respects the environment and human resources .
And Covid-19, imposing seclusion and forced closures on us, has taught us that Nature is quick to recover from the lack of attention Man has paid it and good at teaching the way of coexistence between men and the Planet. This can be seen both from the reduction in the level of pollution in many cities as well as from the peaceful invasion of what are considered to be wild animals in urban centers. It was enough to pull the plug and, like it or not, stop. And Nature did the rest.
But the lesson has also been another. With the increasingly frequent use of remote work, the decrease in environmental impact has been significant, with savings both in terms of fuel pollution caused by travel and energy consumption by offices. And this is without considering the reduction of costs for the management of resources on site, or considering the collateral improvement of the working conditions of many – excluding those sectors that find a reason for being in the sociality of sharing, such as school – thanks to the easier reconciliation of work and private life.
But students also feel responsible for their future and it is certain that soon, when the nightmare of the pandemic is only a memory, their battles for the planet will begin again. Which in turn will make them more aware future workers.
The future is green, and the Made in Italy company increasingly makes respect for the environment a characteristic label synonymous with certified quality. Maximum attention to sustainability therefore, which translates, being at the forefront, into a noble brand reputation, starting from now.
