The most sought-after jobs: what are the 15 most requested profiles on the Italian market?
2020 was the annus horribilis that marked the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the globe, with major repercussions on the labour market. Whilst many lost their jobs, many others saw a sharp reduction in their work lead to a significant drop in their disposable income.
Many, but not all, because Coronavirus has outlined new priorities and defined needs that have created the need for new hires, particularly in certain sectors. From education and specialized medicine, by way of digital Mktg and creative services to customer support, the needs of Italians beleaguered by the virus have led to a significant reorganization of services for citizens.
According to the Jobs on the Rise report produced by LinkedIn, the most important professional network on the net, 2020 was characterized by the emergence of the most sought-after profiles by public and private companies. These are the so-called Emerging Jobs that have asserted themselves in a labour market whose balance has been upset by the pandemic.
They are mostly jobs for which a specialized course of study is not always necessary, meaning that many people have been able to reinvent themselves in previously unconsidered roles and have had the chance to change direction in a new role.
2021 is also shaping up as a year of great changes, which will determine the imposition of the relevance of skills alongside a proactive approach and a good dose of confidence in their abilities for those who want to get back into the game. How much the spread of the pandemic has affected these new opportunities can be seen from the trend in recruitment planned by the Government in schools: the 93% increase is essentially attributable to covering the absences of the most vulnerable teachers but the pandemic has redrawn the need for new entrants to such an extent that two competitive state exams will be held to cover almost 90,000 new positions.
Among these, the demand for special needs teachers and support teachers is high and lawyers and research staff are responding to this urgent request too: in other words,profiles from relevant and conceptually contiguous sectors.
Teaching in particular has proved to be one of the most significant sectors for the absorption of much manpower, with the emergency channelling it into functions such as tutoring, public speaking and the development of educational programs that many with an analytical approach and transversal skills can perform. LinkedIn has also redrawn the geographical map of the cities where this demand is strongest: Bergamo, Rome, Palermo, Treviso and Bari.
